We all know that many parts of life have come to a halt or been paused due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. While many of our cosmetic/aesthetic services may be considered elective, they are important to many of our patients. The impact that facials, chemical peels, laser hair removal, and injections can have on mental health for some people cannot be ignored.
Dr. Ramesh Peramsetty, Founder and Medical Director of Tuscaloosa Medspa, says that remaining open and available to patients during the coronavirus pandemic has been very important to him personally.
How Tuscaloosa MedSpa and Dr. Peramsetty are Handling COVID-19
Due to Dr. Peramsetty’s strong feelings about being available to patients, we have been open throughout most of the pandemic. However, we have changed many of our protocols to protect the safety of patients and staff. Injections have been a big area where this has come into play since they may require recurring, regular visits.
“I’ve wanted to be here for the community,” Dr. Peramsetty says. “To accomplish this, we did injections by appointment only for some time, and we are still operating on a very appointment-based schedule.”
In our waiting room, we only allow two people to be present at a time. When you are called back for your appointment, all staff members providing services will keep as much social distance as possible while always wearing masks. Appointments are very one-on-one, and we keep all appointments as brief as possible. We are familiar with all of our patients, so when you come in for a service, we already know your history, and we can get the job done efficiently.
Our overall protocols and process for handling COVID-19 include:
Social distancing
Wearing masks
Having plenty of hand sanitizer available
Cleaning all areas immediately after one client has exited, before the next one comes in
Limiting how many people come in contact with each other
Limiting appointment times
We are so thankful that with this process, we have been successful in keeping everyone safe while continuing to offer services that are important to many.
