BOTOX Cosmetic® is a FDA approved treatment for the temporary reduction of moderate to severe dynamic wrinkles. BOTOX Cosmetic® can eliminate that "always angry" look or that "tired" appearance caused by dynamic wrinkles. BOTOX Cosmetic® is also used to reduce underarm sweating, to treat migraine headaches, to stop eye twitching, and to tighten a double chin.

BOTOX Cosmetic® is a simple, non-surgical procedure that smoothes the deep, persistent lines between your brows and the corner of the eyes that develop over time.

One 10-minute treatment -- a few tiny injections -- relaxes the muscles that cause those lines to form and keeps them relaxed up to 4 months. The results are dramatic and visible within days.

WHAT IS BOTOX COSMETIC®?

BOTOX Cosmetic® is purified botulinum toxin type A. The protein is administered directly into the muscles causing a wrinkle. This causes the muscle to relax, resulting in a decrease in fine lines.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BOTOX COSMETIC® AND FILLERS

BOTOX Cosmetic® works on those wrinkles or lines caused by overactive muscles. It blocks the chemicals that cause these muscles to contract, thereby relaxing them and causing the wrinkle to be eliminated. Fillers such as Restylane® and Collagen are used to fill spaces where volume has changed, and has left a resultant line or wrinkle.

WHAT IS TREATMENT LIKE?

BOTOX Cosmetic® treatment is minimally invasive – it is administered through a series of injections into the muscles causing the wrinkle. No anesthesia is required, although some patients may choose to numb the area prior to treatment with a cold pack. Many patients compare the minimal discomfort to an insect bite.

HOW SOON WILL I NOTICE IT?

Patients can expect to see results within days or up to one week. Although results may vary, visible results can last up to four months.
